EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ: While a lot of focus was on the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA, Jets make a big free agent move in getting LB Nick Bellore back before their deadline.

“It’s an honor to say I'll be back in the green & white next year.” Bellore said on Twitter last night.

Back on Mach 10th, the Jets extended a restricted free agent tender to Bellore. Bellore was offered a 1yr, $1.4M tender.

Bellore, 24, had until May 2nd to accept the Jets’ offer. If Bellore didn’t accept the offer, the Jets would have what’s called “exclusive rights” to negotiating with him.

However, the Jets would be un-eligible to receive a compensatory draft pick in this year’s draft because Bellore was an unrestricted free agent at some time in his three year stretch with the Jets.

Last season, Bellore led  the special teams unit in tackles at 27.
