Jennifer Love Hewitt will be looking for another steady gig after the cancellation of the CBS television series the “Ghost Whisperer.”

Hewitt has hit a series of rough patches lately including a recent break up with boyfriend Jamie Kennedy after he skipped out on her birthday in February. The cancellation of CBS’s “Ghost Whisperer” could mean the actress will be out of a steady job, but rumors have been circulating that the show could get picked up by ABC, reported E! Online.

Hewitt was the star of the show, portraying Melinda Gordon, who receives messages from the dead and relays them to the living. The main character could see ghosts, as well as communicate with them. “Ghost Whisperer” first aired on CBS in 2005.
