Jennifer Lawrence did not wear a Oscar De La Hoya “gown”--or boxing robe--at the Academy Awards show or on the red carpet on Sunday, as it was satire from The Onion.

The Onion--the preeminent satire news organization--published a Photoshopped image of Lawrence wearing the red boxing attire.

The photo was shared widely on Facebook, but some people thought it was real.

“Man she be tripping,” one person wrote on the Onion’s Facebook page.

Another added, “Is this for real? Like now for Oscars? Haha.”

Another person wrote, “Who cares?”

The Onion has a disclaimer saying it’s satire.

“The Onion is a satirical weekly publication published 52 times a year on Thursdays,” it reads, adding: “The Onion uses invented names in all its stories, except in cases where public figures are being satirized. Any other use of real names is accidental and coincidental.”

Lawrence--a star in “American Hustle”--wore a bright red dress to the Oscars.
