Janel Parrish and Val Chmerkovskiy are the hottest team on Dancing With the Stars season 19, with dating rumors starting as soon as they kissed in week 1.
The duo seemed to take pains not to be too intimate in week 2 but the rumors have continued as the chemistry between the pair is obvious.
Val’s brother Maksim and his partner Meryl Davis were likewise followed by rumors last season, with the duo going on to win the season but not becoming an actual couple.
The big difference is that Janel has a boyfriend, Payson Lewis.
Lewis is an actor, singer, and songwriter who lives in Los Angeles.
While the speculation about a romance between Janel and Val continues, Payson has been--on the surface at least--supportive of team “Janelskiy.”
He’s posted a number of pictures of Janel and Val dancing. Some of the pictures are relatively suggestive.
During the performances, he’s been sharing his thoughts on Twitter live along with pictures on Instagram.
“Nailed it!” he said after Janel and Val’s week 2 dance.
He later told his followers to go online or call to vote for Janel and Val to move to week 3, which they ended up doing.
Lewis appears to have been at all of the performances and voting shows so far, posting several shots on Instagram.
“Here’s to the one I love; my inspiration, my best friend,” he said in one caption. “Today is your day @janelparrish Now go kick some ass! #yougotthis #DWTS.”
And fans have defended Janel’s actions, with one saying:
“I hate how everyone takes everything out of proportion. Like seriously so what they kissed but it wasn’t like a couple kissing. They’re good friends and they just did a stressful dance. I think everyone says I love you to friends. If she was cheating she wouldn’t do that in public...this could really ruin someone’s relationship w/ ppl blowing it up...just saying”
