Janel Parrish and boyfriend Payson Lewis appear to have split, leading to an increase in dating rumors about Parrish and Dancing With the Stars partner Val Chmerkovskiy.
Lewis appeared to reveal the split in an Instagram post.
“All good things must come to an end,” he said, sharing a picture of him and Janel lying on a blanket in some grass.
“Thank you for the happiest year and a half of my life. I will always love you @janelparrish and I wish you nothing but the best. Forever #teamjanel.”
Janel hasn’t confirmed the break up but did post a quote on Instagram that may have alluded to it.
“Strength doesn’t come from what you can do,” the quote reads. “It comes from overcoming the things you once thought you couldn’t.”
If the break up is true then Janel may soon start dating Chmerkovskiy, whether officially or unofficially.
Dancing With the Stars is often rife with dating rumors, but Janel and Val have been in the lead this year. In week 1 they danced very intimately, then afterward they kissed each other backstage and Janel told him, “I love you.”
In subsequent weeks, though, they appeared to tone down the passion, perhaps in response to the rumors that Janel was cheating on Payson with Val.
“They spend so much time together and they are so touchy feely and all over each other,” a source told Radar Online around week 2. “It happens sometimes on the show.”
The source noted, though, that short romances often develop on the show but they “usually don’t last past the finale.”
Val has also been accused of trying to technique his brother Maksim used last year to win. “Maks” and Meryl Davis appeared to have a “showmance” going on, being very passionate with each other, leading to lots of dating rumors. Interestingly enough, Val and Janel just had dinner with Maksim and Meryl a couple of days ago.
Janel addressed the rumors for the first time last week.
“Everybody always wants to know,” she told Access Hollywood.
“No, we are just partners,” Janel said of Val. “We’re just focusing on the dancing.”
But the actress, who is perhaps best known as Mona in Pretty Little Liars on ABC Family, says that she doesn’t mind the attention they’re getting.
“I mean, I’m glad that it looks that way,” she said.
Janel recently called Val her “coach, motivator, and friend” on Instagram.
