Jane Lynch made a guest appearance as the host of Saturday Night Live on Oct. 9 as part of a promotional move for the hit TV drama Glee.

Opening the night with a demonstration of her vocal skills, Lynch arrived in character as Sue Sylvester, singing a monologue about Glee, while cracking a few jokes in between verses.

The actor-comedian put on several other skits including one as a cornball mom in D ... , Your Mom Is on Facebook Filter, and another as a contestant in the show’s Password parody, Secret Word.

Due to the star’s appearance on the show, along with popular R&B singer-songwriter Bruno Mars, SNL’s ratings were significantly boosted on the previous week.

The SNL telecast was rated as the number one program of the night, topping all primetime telecasts on all major networks in metered-market household ratings, according to NBC Press.

Lynch’s popularity has sky rocketed since she started acting on Glee, which has made her a famous personality on U.S. television.

Glee has also toppled the Beatles’ 40-year-old record at the Top 100 hit singles charts, with 75 registered singles in total, overtaking the Beatles’ 71 singles.
