Grammy Award winner James Taylor broke his leg and injured his shoulder while on a family ski trip in Utah on Monday.
An email to Boston Globe on Tuesday reported that he fractured his leg on the first day of his vacation, but Taylor had doctors fashion a splint on his leg that would allow him to keep on skiing.
Taylor had pledged to live a healthy life after reflecting on some of his bad behaviors, reported ShowbizSpy in 2008. “By some stroke of luck, I didn’t end up with any of the diseases that my behavior should’ve given me,” he told ShowbizSpy. “I should’ve died about five times. So I’ve used up all my chances. I have to take it easy now and keep fit, keep healthy.”
James Taylor is famous for his songwriting skills, which earned him a Time Magazine cover story in 1971 and a spot in the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame in 2000. Taylor is also a five time Grammy Award winner, earning him three Best Pop Vocal Performances for male artists.
