Jake Miller, a young hip-hop artist, made a big announcement on Monday, telling fans he has signed a record deal with Warner Brothers.
“None of this could have been possible without you guys,” he said. “I love you so much. This is just the beginning.”
The photo he posted on Instagram has already accumulated over 14,000 likes.
A video he posted on YouTube celebrating the announcement has gone viral. He also has over 330,000 fans on Twitter.
Miller, 20, has been moving up quickly, with a number 1 debut on iTunes hip-hop charts with his second EP.
Miller told MTV that he’s been waiting nearly four months to make the news public.
“I’ve been waiting a long, long time to tell everybody,” Miller said. “It’s obviously a dream come true and we have a video coming out today and family and friends are in the video we are popping champagne, celebrating together. The night that I signed that deal was the greatest night of my life.”
Miller’s influences include Eminem, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, and Drake. He began posting videos on YouTube, which landed him a gig opening for Snoop Dogg.
Miller debuted an album, Us Against Them, earlier this month, and is on his second tour.
“I’ve always said that music without a message is just sound,” Miller said. “I try to put out as much positive music as possible.”
On Twitter, Miller added: “No one understands how big this is. I’ve never been so happy in my life.”
