Jade Jagger, the daughter, of Mick Jagger, said her daughter, Assisi, will have a child, meaning that the Rolling Stones frontman will be a great-grandfather at the age of 70.
Jade Jagger told the Guardian that Assisi, 21, will give birth in 2014.
“I think making Mick a grandfather obviously had a big impact whereas, now, making him a great-grandfather is no longer particularly fascinating,” she told the paper. “My dad has always been great at keeping the family together and having those important moments – Christmas parties, his birthday. We’ll be spending New Year’s Eve together, nearly all of us [in Mustique].”
She added: “”I think making Mick a grandfather obviously had a big impact whereas, now making him a great-grandfather is no longer particularly fascinating,” according to the Express.
Her daughter announced the news last week.
“Jade was a little taken aback at first, not least because it means she will be a grandmother by the age of 42. She’s expecting some ribbing from her showbiz pals,” a source close to the family told the Express.
The source added: “Mick is delighted and has no qualms about being a great grandfather. He’s been joking about becoming a great, great grandad and still performing!”
All of the members of the Rolling Stones are grandparents. They are slated to start touring again in March 2014.
