With all of the snowstorms that are brewing in the northern part of the United States, the question has to be asked “Why would anyone live somewhere that it snows?” There are very few places in our country where there isn’t a possibility for snow. Personally, I would only live in two places in our country. California or the great state of Florida and I am lucky enough to live in the latter.

Do You Love the Beach?

The beach isn’t for everyone and this is especially true for the fairer skinned people. Florida gives the freedom to go to the beach at a moment’s notice. Many people around the country might drive for hours to go to the beach but that isn’t a problem that Floridians have. This is a reason to move to Florida alone if you are an avid beach bum.

Can You Deal With Inclement Weather?

Florida does not have much snow if any, there are portions of the state where it hasn’t seen snow in nearly 100 years. With the cold weather not being a problem at all, the weather is still quite unpredictable. There are hurricanes that tend to shut everything down for a day or two. The lightning is quite spectacular to look at as Florida is the lightning capital of the world.

Are Outdoor Activities Something You Enjoy?

Fishing is great in Florida and can be done without a boat. There are numerous piers and canals that you can just throw a line in and possibly catch dinner. There are also numerous hunting grounds if that is something that you enjoy. Camping is great as there are many rivers with campgrounds and there won’t be a worry about how cold it is going to be.

The Population Is Diverse

Florida’s population is quite diverse as meeting a born and raised Floridian is quite rare. People come from many different states to live and many to retire in the warm weather Florida has to offer. There is also an international influence as Florida is one of the most visited places in the world.

Do You Like Boating?

Florida has been call the Venice of America on many occasions. This is because there are vast arrays of interconnecting canals that have a great view of some of the nicest homes one could ever see. Specifically in Fort Lauderdale, there are some canals that go by some of the largest homes in south Florida.

As you can see Florida might not be for everyone, but in all honesty it probably is. There are not many areas where Florida lacks in besides the cold weather. To be honest, Floridians will let the northern states keep that cold weather while they have an endless summer. Recently, Florida allowed same sex marriage so the critics that say it might not be the most tolerant place have been silenced.
