NEW EXHIBIT: The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts is celebrating the dance, plays, songs, and vibrant culture of the Irish with “Ireland America The Ties That Bind.” The exhibit opened on Monday and runs through August. This costume was worn by dancer Erin O'Connell onstage at a Chieftains performance in 1999. Also offered at the library in conjunction with this display will be performances of Irish folk tales and legends for children, Irish language lessons, and dramatic readings of plays by Oscar Wilde.
