On Sunday, suicide bombers detonated two cars packed with explosives outside the Trade Bank of Iraq in Baghdad, reported AP from the city.

In the confusion of the aftermath, the death toll has been reported between 18 and 28, with between 42 and 57 injured.

Later in the day, another suicide bomb attack killed 33 in Tikrit, Saddam Hussein’s hometown.

A third suicide bomber killed five more people in Tikrit, seemingly set as a trap. As people were responding to the previous car bomb, a man detonated his explosive vest.

The latest bombs come just a week after another attack on a Baghdad central bank killed up to 26 people. Iraq is in the midst of a government deadlock following inconclusive elections in March.
