At the 2014 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), some new display models were introduced. David Hsieh of DisplaySearch provides a handful of tables (see below) of these displays, their details, and what future products might use them. Note that these are only possible options; some of these products may not come to fruition or some may change. Still, this is an exciting look into the technology we might see in 2014.
Smartphones had three new displays:
You’ll notice that iPhone 6 appears twice on this list. This could mean that Apple is testing both of these sizes and will eventually decide to pick just one of them for the new iPhone 6, but it could also mean that Apple might release multiple different sized models of the iPhone 6. This wouldn’t be too great of a surprise, for Apple’s Macbook Pros come in three different sizes. And, after all, most iPhone fans are expecting a larger screen with the next model, as phones like the Samsung Galaxy have more screen real-estate to offer consumers.
