A tornado damaged five homes in Pierson, Iowa, on Friday, according to reports.

KTIV reported on the damage. “REPORTS OF 5 HOMES DESTROYED NEAR PIERSON, IOWA,” it wrote.

A warning was issued for Central Woodbury. Southern Cherokee, Northwestern Ida, and southeastern Plymouth counties.

The National Weather Service issued a warning on 6:50 p.m. CDT.

“A confirmed large and extremely dangerous tornado was located 8 miles east of Bronson, and moving northeast at 40 mph,” it said.

It described the tornado that it will be between Pierson and Correctionville at around 7 p.m.

The warning lasts until 7:30 p.m.
