Shots were fired at Iowa State University on Monday, coming after a police chase.

The suspect has been taken into custody, the university said.

“There is no continuing threat to the community. It is safe to go about your normal activity.”

“Please avoid the area that is cordoned off and follow officer instructions,” it added.

Iowa State Daily reported that at least one person is injured, and that the suspect was taken to Mary Greeley Medical Center, with no word on his condition.

Classes will resume as normal, a university representative said.
