The iOS 7.1.1 jailbreak effort was shown working in several new videos recently.

After Apple released the iOS 7.1.1 update, previous jailbreaks from evad3rs proved to be ineffective.

A video was posted to YouTube a few days ago, showing the alleged jailbreak.

The user said that progress has been slow because of funding.

“For many months now the Jailbreak community had the chance to influence a new public jailbreak by donating to https://isios7jailbrokenyet.com/ - instead they were manipulated by certain people with own financial interests to boycott it. So the JB community is basically responsible themselves that new public jailbreaks are only coming out slowly,” the user said, referring to a donation link.

And Cult of Mac notes that two hackers posted jailbreak videos last month.

“While this all sounds well and good, however, it’s possible that we won’t see a public version of the iOS 7.1.1 jailbreak in the foreseeable future. That’s because WWDC is just around the corner, where Apple is likely to announce iOS 8. Once iOS 8 lands it’s likely that attention will be placed on jailbreaking that instead,” the website says.

One of the descriptions for the video says, “Oh yeah, this is iOS 7.1.1 untethered if you didn’t notice earlier. (iPhone 4 GSM though, don’t want to mess with any other devices that I have. Would work elsewhere... if you put in the effort.”

iOS 8 was revealed on Monday at the WWDC in San Francisco and is slated to come out in the fall. A beta version can be downloaded starting now, however.
