Nic Notion, artist: “I would describe my style as being mix between classic gentleman and 90s skateboard style. I like to be timeless and classic, but also fresh and a little rebelious. We’ve got a factory influence, we’ve got a graffiti influence as well. Industrial look.”

Christina Gibbs, collections database manager, Detroit institute of Arts: “Wearing simple colors allows me to wear scarf whichever color I like for the day, depending on my mood. I work at Detroit Institute of Arts, which is very office like, but can be some eccentricities included in there. Detroit seems to be very working city. Most of the people I know, we don’t have just one job, we have two and another side-project. Or people are dropping their jobs for opening their bussinesses. It’s working industry.”

Anthony Henderson, restaurant manager: “Confidence. Detroit is coloring confidence. I’m wearing it and I’m own in it. This area has more eclectic, more you going to find mix of things. My grandmother has a big influence on my style. She had tons of shoes and I subsequently own a lot of pair of shoes. I’ve been running around and dust them, so they are all messed-up. but I really really do like these shoes. They do go with just about anything.”
