Every year Christmas prompts many people around the world to purchase presents for themselves. In case you’ve decided to get yourself a new high-end gaming notebook maybe it’s better to wait a little as Intel will launch two new mobile Core i7 Haswell processors next quarter.

The new chips will not bring anything revolutionary except for 100 MHz more clock speed when compared to their predecessors. They will carry the Core i7-4720HQ and Core i7-4722HQ brand names and will retire the current Core i7-4710HQ and Core i7-4712HQ chips. The i7-4720HQ chip will include four processing cores at 2.4 GHz.

In Turbo Boost mode the chip will operate at 3.4 GHz. The i7-4722HQ will include four cores at 2.6 GHz in normal mode and at 3.6 GHz in Turbo mode.

Both chips come with 6 MB of L3 cache and integrated Intel HD 4600 graphics but there is a slight difference that we have to mention – the i7-4720HQ will have its integrated GPU clocked at 400 MHz/1150 MHz Turbo, while the i7-4722HQ will run its GPU at 400 MHz/1200 MHz Turbo. The TDP of the chips will be 37W and 47W respectively.

No word on pricing as of now.
