The release date for Insidious 3 has been officially announced.

The horror film will be released on April 3, 2015.

The movie announced the release date while welcoming Stefanie Scott to the cast.

Scott has starred in Disney’s “A.N.T.Farm” and “Flipped” and “No Strings Attached.”

Leigh Whannell, who was the writer for the first two films and will be directing this one, said that Insidious 3 “s a lot more like part one than two.”

“I’m working on it right now, so thought I'd tell those who care where it’s headed,” he told fans via Twitter earlier this year.

Screen Rant reported previously that a script is complete and that the story is not connected to the last scene in Insidious 2. Instead, the film will focus on a new family and story.

Patrick Wilson and Rose Byrne are not returning, but Leigh Whannell and Angus Sampson will return as ghost hunters Specs and Tucker.

Insidious 2 came out on September 13, 2014.

It focused again on Josh and Renai Lambert (Wilson and Byrne), who tried to uncover the secret that connected them to the spirit world.

It did tremendously well in the box office, drawing over $160 million worldwide despite a $5 million budget and mixed reviews.
