An Indian father cut off the hands of a teen who allegedly sexually abused his baby daughter.

The 17-year-old was accused of assaulting a seven-month-old infant in 2014 after the child’s mother allegedly caught the teen in the act.

Following an April 19 hearing, the father of the girl, 25-year-old Parminder Singh, told the teen that he was going to forgive him and would accept an out-of-court settlement. He then offered to drive the boy home to Kotli Ablu village, where they both live, reported the Gulf News.

But as they were traveling, Singh stopped the bike they were riding on and attacked the teen. He is said to have tied the teen to a tree before cutting his hands off with a machete.

He left the teen abandoned near a canal in agony.

“Locals alerted police and we rushed to the spot. We picked him up, his hands, and took him to the hospital,” Swapan Sharma, a senior police officer, told AFP.

Police said that Singh gave the accused teen a drink containing drugs. The victim was intoxicated when his hands were cut, reported Gulf News.

“He also inflicted injuries on the head and other parts of the body of the youth,” Superintendent of Police Bikramjit Singh told Gulf News.

Singh has reportedly gone on the run, and police are looking for him. He will be charged with attempted murder, officials said.

Locals who found the teen called police and an ambulance arrived to pick him up, the Mirror reported.

The teen is said to be in critical condition.
