After two weeks of renovations, the White House unveiled the renovated West Wing of the president’s home. Over 200 workers had been working around the clock on the $3.4 million in renovations to the West Wing.

Updates to the White House included new paint and carpets, a replacement of the heating and cooling system, updates to the electric system, and fixing leaks.

President Donald Trump picked the new wallpaper for the Oval Office himself according to Town & Country, doing away with striped walls and replacing it with cream damask wallpaper.

Other changes to the Oval Office include a new floral edged rug and golden-hued upholstery, according to Fox News.

The $3.4 million renovations, which had been approved by President Barack Obama, were “more out of necessity than cosmetic”, a White House spokesperson told Town & Country.

One of the major renovations was the replacement of the 27-year-old HVAC system, which runs 24-hours a day, 7 days a week. President Trump stayed mostly at his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey, during the renovations.

Changes were also made to the White House press area, where leaks were fixed and a temporary set of stairs were removed.
