Illegal Immigrant Accused of Impregnating 11-Year-Old Asked Judge to Deport Him

A 20-year-old illegal immigrant accused of impregnating an 11-year-old girl had asked a judge to deport him, according to reports.

Carlos Jacinto Cobo-Perez had admitted to having sexual intercourse with the young girl in a car near her elementary school in Arizona, according to investigators, reported CBS 5. A hospital confirmed the girl’s pregnancy on the same day Cobo-Perez was taken into custody, reported ABC 15.

The 20-year-old is currently being held in custody on a $150,000 bond for charges of aggravated assault and sexual conduct with a minor. During his first court appearance last week in Phoenix, Cobo-Perez asked the judge through a translator whether he could sign off on his voluntary exit from the United States, presumably so he would not have to deal with the situation.

“If I want to sign my order of deportation, am I allowed to or not?” said Coco-Perez, reported Fox 10. The news outlet reported that the 20-year-old is an illegal alien, citing police.

The judge replied, “That’s not something that this court does.”

The child’s mother told the station that she hopes he is not released and instead faces punishment.

“He needs to pay for what he did,” the woman told ABC15 Arizona. “If they let him out and send him back, he’ll be able to come back pretty easily.”

CBS5 reported that a letter written by Cobo-Perez had been found, in which the suspect said he understood “he could go the jail for having a relationship” with the girl, and that “he does not care if he goes to jail.”

Cobo-Perez’s relationship with the minor came to light when the girl’s mother became suspicious in November of last year after she saw a hickey on her daughter’s neck.

The 11-year-old subsequently confessed to her mother that she and Cobo-Perez were “in a relationship,” CBS5 reported. Cobo-Perez was then warned to stay away from the girl.

“She was infatuated,” the victim’s mother told ABC15 Arizona. “She didn’t understand, she’s a kid, and any person that’s older than her can wrap her around their finger.”

During a police interview six months ago, Cobo-Perez told investigators he was aware “their relationship was wrong” and promised to break it off, reported CBS5.

But then girl’s mother told ABC15 she overheard Cobo-Perez “saying that he had been with my daughter and that he was scared she might be pregnant.”

A friend of Cobo-Perez and the young girl, who did not want to be identified, told Fox 10 that Cobo-Perez appeared distressed after finding out the 11-year-old was pregnant.

“He called me last Friday crying, telling me he got his girlfriend pregnant and I didn’t believe it,” the girl told the news station.

Cobo-Perez’s next court date is on May 28.
