Ian Watkins, the former Lostprophets singer who is in jail for sexually abusing children, didn’t commit suicide in prison.

Numerous claims circulating on Twitter, Facebook, and other websites claim that Watkins hung himself but the Prison Service has denied the claims.

A spokeswoman simply said: “Ian Watkins has not died.”

He’s serving a 29-year sentence after being convicted last year.

The fake death report appears to originate with a hoax website called the Internet Chronicle.

Other stories on the website claim that Ukrainian forces seized Moscow, the capital of Russia, and ancient aliens had landed on Earth.
