Tropical Storm Ian is expected to strengthen again as it passes over the Atlantic Ocean before hitting South Carolina’s coast on Friday, officials said.

According to the National Hurricane Center (NHC), Tropical Storm Ian emerged on Thursday morning along Florida’s northeastern coast, where it will strengthen back into a hurricane. Ian is then expected to make a second landfall on South Carolina as a hurricane on Friday, an NHC model shows.
