In the new Fox series “I Wanna Marry Harry,” 12 American women will compete for a date with none other than British Royalty, Prince Harry. There’s one catch though. Prince Harry in the show is not the real Prince Harry.
The promo video for the reality show shows a “The Bachelor”-style setting with an extravagant castle where the women compete for the heart of a fake Prince Harry.
As the fake prince steps out of his helicopter, one woman confidently says “That’s Prince Harry.”
“We told twelve American women they could win a royal, fairytale wedding, and they believed us,” a man with a very posh British accent says in the preview ad.
According to Exeter Express and Echo media site, the impersonator is 21-year-old Matthew Hicks, an environmental consultant from Exeter. Hicks is said to have blonde hair which he dyed red for the show.
The show, a Fox series, is set to air on the network on May 27, 2014.
