A crash on Interstate 95 has closed down the road near Bangor, Maine, according to reports.

More than three dozen vehicles were involved in the crash, said the Bangor Daily News.

Both northbound lanes were closed down. At least six people were hurt, but there were no fatalities.

According to CentralMaine.com:

Troopers said at least a half dozen people have been injured and all have been extricated from the wrecks. There have been no fatalities, however a couple of the injured appear to be in serious condition.

One state trooper on the scene described the crash site as a “giant pile of metal,” according to a press release from McCausland. Among the vehicles are a school bus and a tractor trailer.

Heavy snow continues to fall at the crash site. Northbound motorists should take the Newport exit to avoid the crash site. Interstate 95 will be closed for the remainder of the morning.
