NEW YORK—Hundreds of protesters marched the length of Manhattan on Monday in the name of economic justice under the Occupy Wall Street banner.

Especially prevalent were the African American and Latino community groups from northern Manhattan, who worked their way down through the Upper West Side and Greenwich Village further south.

Washington Heights resident Sarah Banda was part of the throng. She works for a non-profit that she says helps working class people.

“I see how much they’re struggling and more and more cuts to the programs they need,” said Banda.
