Howard Richmond, a Canadian soldier accused of killing his wife Melissa Richmond, has abandoned his application for bail.
Howard, 50, allegedly killed his wife, 28, in summer 2013.
Howard was a warrant officer with the Canadian Armed Forces.
He reported his wife missing on July 24, and her body was discovered in a deep ditch soon after along Bank Street in Winchester, Ontario.
She was stabbed multiple times, sources told CBC.
Richmond told CBC before he was arrested that he had received treatment for PTSD following six tours of duty, including three in Afghanistan.
The preliminary hearing in the case is set for May 12.
