Apple’s latest version of iOS is a huge improvement over other recent builds. It’s a particularly substantial improvement over iOS 8.0.1, which bricked about 30,000 iPhones in late September. As solid as iOS 8.1 is, however, the software still has some bugs that can be a big headache for iPhone and iPad users around the world.

That’s the bad news. The good news is that there are already things you can do to address all of iOS 8.1’s most troublesome bugs.

Gizmodo has put together a nice list of the most annoying bugs plaguing people with iPhones, iPads and iPod touch handhelds running iOS 8.1. More than just listing the problems, however, the site offers ways to fix the issues, or at least slap Band-Aids on them until Apple finally releases new software updates that address iOS 8.1’s problems.

One of the worst issues people are seeing in iOS 8.1 involves a major hit to battery life. This problem appears to be widespread, and it’s forcing people to charge their iOS devices much more frequently than they had to while running iOS 8.

Gizmodo offers a few ways to address the problem, many of which we’ve covered in the past. For example, going into your iPhone or iPad’s settings and adjusting which apps can use your location or refresh in the background can help extend battery life.

And as we detailed in a recent post, there’s another way to address poor battery life in iOS 8.1 that has had a huge impact on battery life for many people.
