A flash flood warning was issued for parts of the Houston area on Thursday morning.
The National Weather Service issued the watch early in the morning. The watch lasts until around 4 p.m.
According to the Houston Chronicle, heavy rainfall on the Cypress Creek watershed caused flooding in some areas
The watch is in effect for “a portion of southeast Texas, including the following counties, Harris and liberty,” the Weather Service said.
The agency said that the Colorado River is hitting its high-water levels due to the heavy rains that hit Austin, Texas. Colorado and Wharton counties might see flooding later on Thursday, according to the Chronicle.
