A hot air balloon carrying at least 11 people crashed in waters near the city of Almere in the Netherlands, according to accounts on Twitter and a local report.
At least two people were injured.
Dutch news site Almere-Nieuws reported that a “hot air balloon crashed Tuesday” and added that “all 11 passengers were quickly removed from the water and two of them were injured. They were transported to the [hospital] ... The accident is still under investigation,” according to a Dutch translation.
User “Jellevdwerff” said on Twitter: “Air balloon crashed on # almere several wounded on the rocks by the water,” according to a translation.
“Jellevdwerff,” who says on his account that he is a firefighter, posted a photo of the scene on Twitter.
Another user, Marcel Guldemond, posted another photo of the balloon.
