TAIPEI, Taiwan—Shen Yun Performing Arts New York Company performed at the Dr. Sun Yat-sun Memorial Hall on its final day in Taipei on Sunday afternoon, March 25, attracting many celebrities who appreciated seeing the New York-based company’s revival of traditional Chinese culture.

Mr. Hantung Chang, superintendent of Hantung Hospital and former chairman of the National Taiwan University Alumni Association, praised Shen Yun, saying the music, which blends East and West, the classical and story-based dance, and dazzling color, perfectly displayed an atmosphere of power and beauty.

Mr. Chang, who is a senior obstetrician, and the curator of Hantung Aikido Dojio, as well as the founding president of Chinese Taipei Judo Federation, a master of Taiwan judo, aikido (grade 8), and swordsmanship was in attendance with his wife, Ms. Yuemei Liang, who is an international master of potted plants.

With a martial arts background, Mr. Chang especially appreciated the dancing artists postures. “The Shen Yun performance demonstrated a self-cultivation culture, as well as power and beauty,” he said.

Dr. Chang said that the high-tech backdrops were very beautiful, which synchronized with the dances perfectly. “Shen Yun combined well all kinds of arts, including the music, dance, color, and aesthetic feelings. The performance was really great!”

Mrs. Yuemei Liang praised the rich and bright colors used in the costumes and backdrops. She said, “Most colors were of early spring, such as light yellow and verdant green, which symbolized the beginning of new life. They made people feel full of vitality and refreshing.”

Mrs. Liang further expressed that the multi-arts displayed in the Shen Yun performance provided the audience a refreshing feeling. “The performance was full of hope and joy!” she said.
