Honda Siel India has introduced its new Honda Jazz lineup for next year, and it has already started to generate a lot of buzz and interest among car buyers in India.

Honda India had previously dropped the prices on its popular Honda City lineup, and have now dropped the price of Honda Jazz to Rs. 5.5 lakhs (U.S. $12,058) for the starting model, Jazz S, and going up to Rs. 5.75 lakh and Rs. 6.06 lakh for the more premium Jazz Select and Jazz X respectively.

In addition to the price drop, which has potential car buyers interested, the new model comes with upgraded grille and front bumpers, new headlights and alloy wheels. The interior color has become a shade darker and blacker, making the car look sleeker on the inside. The rear seats can be reclined, and the Jazz X features a USB port that allows one to plug into the music system in the car.

The new Honda Jazz will come with one additional color that Honda calls Urban Titanium. This is in addition to the existing colours that the Honda Jazz has always offered: white, silver, black and red.

Wheels Unplugged quoted Seki Inaba, Director Marketing, Honda Siel Cars India, as saying, “The new Jazz with its attractive pricing will surely appeal to the customers and expand on customer base of the Jazz.”

Based on the reaction of Indian car buyers, it certainly has sparked a lot of interest. Its remains to be seen how the new Honda will fare in the marketplace.

Honda Jazz is also known as the Honda Fit in some Asian countries and the Americas, and goes by Honda Jazz in Europe and other parts of the world. Total worldwide sales for the Fit or the Jazz were about 3.5 million units by mid-2010, according to a press release by Honda.
