The Honda City 2014 has been launched in India.
The new model will start at Rs 7.42 lakh (around $16,850) or, for the diesel variant, at Rs 8.62 lakh. However, the petrol models can reach as high as Rs 10.98 lakhs (over $22,500), and the diesel models can reach as high as Rs 11.1 lakhs.
Yoshiyuki Moatsumoto, managing officer at Honda Motor in the Asia and Oceania region, said in a statement that “City has been a high performing product for Honda with over 2.2 million customers across 55 countries. The 4th Generation Honda City is poised for a great response from Indian customers amongst which the car enjoys a very high aspirational value.”
The diesel version has a 1.5L i-DTEC diesel engine. It delivers 100ps at 3600 rpm and a maximum torque of 200 N-m at 1750 rpm, with a six-speed manual transmission.
The petrol model comes with a 1.5L i-WTEC engine, with a maximum power of 119 ps at 660 rpm and a torque of 145 N-m at 4600 rpm. The petrol model has a five-speed manual transmission.
