It sounds like a no-brainer: Beds go in the bedroom, dining tables go in the dining room, sofas go in the living room. But what about those extra rooms, like a spare bedroom, office or sunroom? If you’re lucky enough to have that extra space (which can be a major selling point!), it’s important to decorate them properly to reflect their intended purpose.
This sunroom for example, was far from its potential. The dark furniture and rugs aren’t appropriate for a sunroom, and it hardly appeared comfortable and inviting! The chairs, bureaus and runner-style rug would be much more suited to a foyer or even a dining room.
To stage this room, we re-vamped nearly everything in it. The idea of a sunroom is to create a comfortable, airy space - not stuffy and dark! We got rid of the curtains all together, replaced the red rug with a beige one, added a comfy couch, and pretty, easy accents such as the natural wood coffee table and flowers.
