U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder announced Thursday that he may leave office.
“That’s something that I’m in the process now of trying to determine,” Holder told an audience of law school students at the University of Baltimore School of Law, according to CBS. “I have to think about, can I contribute in a second term?”
Holder, whose office has been embroiled in the “Fast and Furious” gun-running scandal involving sending assault rifles to Mexico, said that he has to consult with President Barack Obama and his family first before making a decision.
Republicans have accused Holder of being complicit in “Fast and Furious,” which allowed guns to be sold in an attempt to track Mexican cartels. The operation, however, lost thousands of weapons.
“Do I think that there are things that I still want to do? Do I have some gas left in the tank?” Holder questioned of himself, according to Reuters.
Another Obama cabinet member, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, also said that she would like to leave her post.
