HONG KONG─This weekend saw the HKFA Premier League teams play off in the Canbo Senior Shield Quarter Finals.

In Saturday’s (Oct 3) games Kitchee faced Hong Kong Pegasus at Mongkok Stadium, whilst Wong Tai Sin took on Kwoon Chung Southern in the later game at Tsing Yi Sports Ground.

Kitchee won the game at Mongkok Stadium thanks to an 88th minute strike from Huang Yang, striking in the rebound from his own shot after receiving the ball from Fernando Pedreira’s corner kick.

In the later game at a rainswept Tsing Yi Sports Ground, Kwoon Chung Southern adjusted better to the conditions and dominated the game against Wong Tai Sin, ending the game as 5-1 victors.

Kwoon Chung Southern opened the scoring in the 10th minute when Tomas Maronesi headed in Michael Luk’s free kick, and doubled their lead two minutes later through James Ha’s curling shot. James Ha added his second, and Kwoon Chung Southern’s third, in the 42nd minute, when he scored with a long range shot for a 3-nil half time lead. Kwoon Chung Southern extended their lead to 4-nil in the 59th minute when Diego Garrida headed in Wellingson Da Souza’s free kick, and extended their lead to 5-nil in the 66th minute with a Wellingson Da Souza penalty kick. Wong Tai Sin gained a consolation in the 80th minute when Yuto Nakamura scored.

In Sunday’s (Oct 4) games, South China faced Yuen Long in the early game at Mongkok Stadium, whilst Eastern tackled BC Rangers in the later tie at Tsing Yi Sports Ground.

South China opened the scoring against Yuen Long in the 9th minute through Liang Zicheng, a lead that they held until half time. Liang Zicheng added a second for both himself and South China in the 77th minute when he robbed Philip To before advancing and beating goalkeeper Chiu Yu-mong. South China extended the lead to 3-nil in the 81st minute when Leung Chun-ping finished from a pull back from Lai Yiu-cheong from Awal Mahama’s cross, and completed the scoring for a 4-nil win in the 89th minute when Awal Mahama finished after Lai Yiu-cheong’s shot rebunded from the post.

Eastern prevailed in their game with BC Rangers due to a brace from striker Andrew Barisic to reach the semi finals with a 2-nil victory. Andrew Barisic first converted a penalty kick in the 19th minute, and then sealed the win in the 75th minute when he headed in from Miroslav Saric’s cross.

In the first division, the clash of the early leaders ended in a 2-all draw between Yau Tsim Mong and HKFC, Sun Hei won 5-2 against Wanchai, Shatin were 1-nil victors over Metro Gallery Sun Source, Wing Yee were 3-1 winners against Tai Chung, Kwai Tsing were 3-nil winners against Kwun Tong, and Lucky Mile were 1nil winners against Double Flower.

HKFC and Yau Tsim Mong lead the table with 13 points from 5 matches, with Citizen third with 12 points having a game in hand.

In the second division, Eastern District were 5-nilvictors over Happy Valley, Tuen Mun won 3-nil against Kwok Keung, and Kwong Wah drew nil-all with Kowloon City.

Eastern District lead the table with 10 points from 4 matches, with Sai Kung second with 9 points from 3 matches.

In the third division, the round was postponed due to closed grounds. Central and Western, St Josephs and Hoi King lead the early table with 100% records and 4 wins.

Yau Yee League
In the first division, Albion won 3-1 against HKDC Mobsters, Wanderers were 3-1 victors over The Store House Squadron, KCC Dragons were 2-1 winners against Swiss XI, Colts were 3-1 winners against USRC, HKU70’s won 3-2 against Baker Tilly Spartans, and GAS were 6-nil victors over Corinthians.

GAS lead the table with a 100% record with 12 points from 4 matches.

In the second division, IUSC (Tai Po) drew 2-all with University, Azzurri were 2-1 winners against The Store House Hearts, GGFC won 3-2 against Colloids FC, Boca Seniors were 3-nil victors over IES, KCC Knights were 4-1 victors over French Kiss, and WYFC06 drew 1-all with Antonhill.

IUSC (Tai Po) lead the table with 12 points from 4 matches.

In the third division, HKSS drew3-all with GCFC, HOB were 2-1victors over White Youth, CAPS were 2-1 winners against HKUSA, Dynamo were 3-1 victors over Yan Po, Goal Visio drew 3-all with CSOB, and ANP were 3-1 winners against Grasshoppers.
Dynamo lead the third division table with a 100% record and 12 points from 4 matches.

In the fourth division, Skyline were 3-2 victors over Power 22, Friends of Barclays won 6-1 against WYFC84, Maccabi HK were 6-nil winners against Standard Chartered, Outward Bound were 3-2 winners against Rising Sun, and Scorpions won 3-2 against Hung Art.
Scorpions and Friends of Barclays lead the table with 100% records and 12 points from 4 matches.
