ARFU Asian Sevens Series
The Hong Kong Rugby Sevens squad put in another masterful performance in the 3rd and final round of the Asian Rugby Football Union (ARFU) Asian Sevens Series 2014 held in Beijing last weekend (Oct 18-19). Hong Kong defeated South Korea 36-19 in the Cup Final to take the Asian Series Crown. Hong Kong swamped Thailand 55-0 in the quarter finals and outplayed Sri Lanka 26-0 in the semi-final. The series win and the manner in which victory was achieved shows a continuing improvement in the men’s Hong Kong Sevens squad, who together with South Korea now gain a place in the 2015 Hong Kong Sevens.

In the Women’s competition the China team won the 2-round series but Japan beat China 24-19 in the Cup final in Beijing. The Hong Kong women took 3rd place overcoming Kazakhstan in a close 14-12 match.
