Highway 400 Crash: Hwy 400 Near Barrie, Ontario Closed After Huge Pile-up

A huge pile-up involving more than 40 vehicles on Highway 400 south of Barrie, Ontario, Canada on Thursday has closed the highway for the time being.

The first accident happened around 9 a.m. on the southbound lanes between Innisfil Beach Road and the highway, police said.

The latest number of vehicles involved is 96.No one is seriously injured, reported CTV.

The OPP said that it is responding to numerous collisions in the area and asked people to not call 911 unless it’s an emergency.

Driving conditions from blowing snow caused the crash and has driving conditions still poor.

“Squall activity lessening in intensity however strong winds still causing whiteout conditions,” it said. “OPP continue to urge drivers stay off roads.”
