NEW YORK—High Line Park received a commitment for $20 million, the single largest contribution to a public park in New York City’s history. The funds come from the Diller – von Furstenberg Family Foundation, has already contributed $15 million to the High Line. The pledged funds will be used to develop the final unfinished section of the High Line between West 30th and West 34th streets and 10th and 12th avenues.

“New York City’s parks have long benefited from the generous philanthropy of New Yorkers and this $20 million commitment is a stunning and unprecedented investment in our future,” stated Parks & Recreation Commissioner Adrian Benepe in a press release.

The High Line has so far collected $85 million of its $150 million goal.
