Heroes Reborn, the 13-episode reboot of the NBC series, will include Noah Bennett aka HRG.
The father of Claire Bennett is the first star to sign on for the reboot.
He started off as a recurring character but was promoted to regular during season 1 of Heroes.
Deadline also reported that some of the other original stars have been approached but no others have signed deals yet.
Sylar (Zachary Quinto) and Peter (Milo Ventimiglia) are not available for the reboot.
NBC previously said that some of the old cast members may return although the leads in the reboot will be all-new.
Masi Oka hinted at a return on Twitter when the reboot was announced.
Heroes Reborn is going to premiere sometime in 2015.
Tim Kring, who created the show, will be heavily involved in the reboot.
“The enormous impact Heroes had on the television landscape when it first launched in 2006 was eye-opening,”Jennifer Salke, president of NBC Entertainment, said in a statement. “Shows with that kind of resonance don’t come around often and we thought it was time for another installment. We look forward to all the new textures and layers Tim plans to add to his original concept. Until we get closer to air in 2015, the show will be appropriately shrouded in secrecy, but we won’t rule out the possibility of some of the show’s original cast members popping back in.”
The new characters will be introduced in a web series ahead of the actual miniseries, E! Online reported
