Nonetheless, it’s a nifty trick, and it might be useful if you’re in the timber industry.

“So you find yourself in the middle of nowhere with a dead battery. If you have a chainsaw and pair of boot laces you can charge a dead battery,” Wranglerstar, the uploader, writes.

It involves taking the chain and bar off the saw before looping a belt (or a rope or shoelaces) on the saw driveshaft. Then, the trick involves removing one’s fan belt from the alternator pulley.
