An alleged Hells Angel biker who is the suspect in the death of a fellow gang member at a San Jose funeral was arrested in California on Saturday, according to local media reports.
Steve Ruiz, the focus of a statewide manhunt, was taken into custody in the Bay Area city of Fremont, just several miles north of where he allegedly shot and killed fellow Hells Angel Steve Tausan last October, according to the San Jose Mercury News.
Both Ruiz and Tausan were at the funeral of San Jose Hells Angel President Jethro Pettigrew, who was shot and killed at a Nevada casino in September. The two apparently got into a fight at the memorial service and Ruiz disappeared.
Police said that after Ruiz left, several people tampered with the crime scene and washed bloodstains and removed evidence, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.
