Heat cut two players

The Miami Heat have cut both Reggie Williams and Chris Johnson.

According to the Sun-Sentinel newspaper, the Heat waived the two players after signing them for the preseason.

Johnson was signed by the Heat on Sept. 26 and played for the Heat in one of their three preseason games, netting a rebound, one assist, and one block in six minutes’ worth of playing time.

Williams, signed Aug. 12, didn’t appear in any preseason game.

Ray Allen rumors

Ray Allen, who is currently a free agent, has reportedly gotten a few offers recently, including from the Milwaukee Bucks, the Chicago Bulls, and others.

“Six teams have actually contacted his reps since he became an unrestricted free agent -- the Wizards, Cleveland Cavaliers, San Antonio Spurs, Chicago Bulls, Oklahoma City Thunder and .... the Milwaukee Bucks. Yes, the latter is not a mistake. Allen spent the first six-plus seasons of his career in Milwaukee, and the franchise’s pitch was a chance to end things where they began. Creative and worth a shot? Yes. Did it work? No,” wrote CSN Washington Wizards reporter J. Michael.

The Wizards are still hopeful, but suffice to say the Cavs are the front-runners as GM David Griffin has been in contact as recently as a few days ago, CSNwashington.com can confirm. Still, nothing,” he added.
