Heartbreaking pictures of an Oklahoma grandfather showed him eating a meal with one grandchild after five others snubbed his invitation to a special family dinner that he cooked for them.

Kelsey Harmon, the grandchild who did attend, shared the image of “Papaw” looking down at his burger—one of 12 he had made in anticipation of spending time with the grandkids.

He made 12 burgers for all 6 grandkids and I’m the only one who showed.

The Northeastern State University student revealed Papaw was devastated when only she turned up.

“Dinner with papaw tonight … he made 12 burgers for all 6 grandkids and I’m the only one who showed,” she said via Twitter.

The pictures and message triggered an outpouring of support on the social media platform, many of whom asked Harmon to convey their messages to the lonely grandfather.

“I know I don’t know you or papaw but can you tell him that we (the internet) love him?” one person wrote.

“This post legit made me cry,” said another.

However, things turned dark as well when people started locating the other grandkids and sending them death threats.

“Papaw is ok guys I promise and he loves all grandkids equally, please stop sending my cousins death threats everything is ok!!” Harmon wrote. She said Papaw is “shocked” about his newfound fame, and doesn’t understand social media but “is very thankful for all the kind words.”

But the messages must have attracted the attention of the other grandchildren, because one of them, Brock Harmon, was soon compelled to visit Papaw and share a picture of them spending time together.

“Guys don’t worry!!!! I came to Papaw’s house and am having a burger!!!!!!” he wrote on Twitter.

“Papaw said he forgives me and wants all of you guys to know that y’all are awesome for making him famous,” he added.

“I asked PaPaw what it felt like being the coolest grandpa in the world and he said its nothing new that he’s been the coolest one for a while.”
