MINNEAPOLIS—An intrinsic part of Shen Yun Performing Arts’ theatrical display of classical Chinese culture, the show’s digital backdrops bring scenes from 5,000 years of history to the modern stage.

Mr. Skip Wasilowski, head sound engineer at the historic Orpheum Theater in Minneapolis, was impressed. “The projections are flawlessly seamed with live action to the degree that it’s almost as if they are seamless! It’s a wonderful, wonderful thing to experience. It’s almost magic to see. I told the people out front, the projections are like magic; it’s wonderful.”

Shen Yun Performing Arts continued to impress audience members as it took to the stage of the Orpheum Theatre Sunday, March 11.

With his 30-year background in theater, Mr. Wasilowski appreciated the difficult nuances of the performance. “The display of talent, the display of expertise in lighting and sound, the expertise in the choreography and the projections—the quality! Expert, expert performance!”

He was touched by the depth of Chinese culture as presented by Shen Yun, and said: “A very illuminating look. There were a lot of things that I knew about—the aspects of Chinese culture prior to the show. Shen Yun was wonderful to see! I’ve read a lot about the Monkey King and different things in Chinese history. The way [Shen Yun] presented it was very, very unique and very wonderful to see.”

Mr. Wasilowski highly recommended Shen Yun to others. “I think the show is spectacular and I think everyone that has an opportunity should get out and see it. It is a wonderful, wonderful spectacular show!”
