He is the person responsible for not alerting the World Health Organization (WHO) to how fast the CCP virus was spreading. Now there’s a global petition demanding Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus to step down. - Chinese authorities covered up the CCP virus outbreak in Wuhan, which led to a global pandemic.

Ghebreyesus, the head of the WHO, not only repeatedly underestimated the seriousness of the virus, but his actions also showed that he was trying to please the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Now, people across the world are signing a petition asking him to step down. According to some critics, those countries who trusted guidance by the WHO is experiencing a grave calamity. In other words, Ghebreyesus is responsible for the global spread of the CCP virus.

Many countries around the world blame the WHO for a global pandemic. Ghebreyesus is the focal point of the outcry. His conduct showed that he was trying to please the CCP and thus underreported the seriousness of the virus.

On January 5, China reported that there was no evidence to show that the virus was contagious. Ghebreyesus did not recommend travel restrictions for China.

On Jan. 14, the virus was spreading within a limited region. Based on reports from China, the WHO said that there had been limited human-to-human transmission of the coronavirus, mainly small clusters in families, adding that “it is very clear right now that we have no sustained human-to-human transmission.”

On Jan. 23, The WHO said there was no evidence showing there had been human-to-human transmission outside of China. On Jan. 28, he didn’t recommend evacuating overseas ex-pats from China and said he was confident that China could contain the virus.

On Feb. 3, he spoke out against travel restrictions and halting trade with China.

On March 12, Ghebreyesus announced that the virus had spread globally. Nations around the world had already realized this much earlier.

Canadians started a Change.org petition, asking Ghebreyesus to resign. Deputy Prime Minister of Japan Taro Aso said Ghebreyesus should be held responsible for the outbreak of the virus and the dire consequences the world is now facing. There are more than 600,000 people who signed the petition.

Aso also said that Ghebreyesus’s Chinese predecessor was also incompetent. Many complaints were lodged against him. Aso mentioned the reason for the global spread of the virus as a result of a cover-up for the CCP. Some people said the World Health Organization should be renamed to the “Chinese Health Organization.”

The United Nations has not yet responded to the petition. The person who started the petition announced that he will keep it public until he receives an answer from the United Nations, or until Ghebreyesus is fired or investigated.

There is also a petition on the White House called “Changing the name Coronavirus to CCP virus (Chinese Communist Party virus).”

The delay in sharing information and cover-up by the Chinese authorities is the root problem of the pandemic. According to an article by Washington Post columnist Josh Rogin, he suggests that we should rename coronavirus to the CCP virus, which is more accurate.
