Hampton, Virginia: Flooding in Downtown as Coastal Flood Advisory Extended

Flooding has hit downtown Hampton, Virginia on Wednesday as a coastal flood advisory has been extended until 5 p.m.

“We can expect 2-4 inches of rain through tomorrow with winds sustained at 20-30 mph and gusts up to 40 mph,” the city advised residents.

People should be on the lookout for flooding until at least 3 p.m.

Todd Corillo of WTKR-TV tweeted two photos showing some flooding in the downtown area, including near Amory’s Seafood.

Hampton’s Office of Emergency Management will continue to monitor the storm.
