The basic items in H1Z1 will not cost extra money.

Guns, ammo, food water, and boosts will be among the items that will be included with the game and not cost anything, Sony Online Entertainment president John Smedley revealed.

Posting on Reddit, Smedley said that team behind the game decided that Station Cash, the currency in the game, will need to be used for wearable items in addition to those that can be found and crafted in the game.

That, he said, will be a “good” and “fair” revenue generator.

Sony also plans to let players loot items from one another, including those purchased.

Yet if that happens then the looting player will get a copy of the item with limited durability while the other player will keep the original unbreakable version.

“So if a player has a black ski mask and gets killed by another player, that player can wear the ski mask for a few deaths,” Smedley said. “This gives the great feeling of whacking some unsuspecting fool who decided to bring a knife to a gun fight.”

H1Z1 was announced earlier this month and is a survival MMO (massively multiplayer online).
