Gwyneth Paltrow has started smoking to try to douse the jealousy over the renewed relationship between estranged husband Chris Martin and Jennifer Lawrence.
Martin, 37, and Lawrence, 24, reportedly broke up but appeared to get back together just days later, according to reports.
Now In Touch magazine says that when Paltrow, 42, heard about the renewed relationship on October 30, she started smoking, and also stopped for a drink in the middle of the day.
“The next day, Gwyneth had a major meltdown,” the inside claims.
“She never smokes or drinks like that,” the person says. “So everyone knew something was up. She was a mess all day.”
The mother of two is known for her healthy lifestyle and apparently usually only smokes one cigarette a week.
But the source says that on Friday, October 31--the day after reports emerged about Martin and Lawrence getting back together--not only was Paltrow smoking multiple cigarettes, she was “frantically texting Chris.”
One insider says that it appears that Paltrow still has feelings for Martin.
“It seems she’s still in love with Chris, but it’s hard to tell her true motives.”
While Martin and Lawrence were temporarily derailed after a video was published showing Paltrow touching Martin after a dinner date with their children, it is now good, another source close to the couple said.
“Jen and Chris hit a glitch in their relationship for about a week because Gwyneth was occupying all of his time,” a source said.
But the Coldplay singer “reassured Jennifer there was no reconciliation with Gwyneth and her attempts to manipulate him weren’t working.”
